Barca created chance after chance with their movement and passing, and even after a pair of brilliant early stops by Thibaut Courtois, it seemed like the visitors’ goal was just a matter of time.
After a half-hour wait the goals were finally scored: Usman Tembele did his magic on the right wing against Nacho, playing a perfect cross into the box to lead the opener to Pierre-Emerick Abameyang; Ten minutes later, Dembele got another assist and found his corner kick Ronaldo Arazo, who headed the ball into the Madrid net with his head.
The only criticism of the first half was that Barca failed to score more goals: Pamayang may have scored a hat-trick, and Ferran Torres came close to pain with a pretty effort. Other than that, Barca played the best 45 minutes of the season and all they had to do in the second half was finish the job.
